This is an official advisory.
Due to the recent outbreak of Ghost-Types, and what is believed to be a related string of reported possession incidents, the following has been advised:
-Limit unnecessary travel whenever possible. Swarms have been reported in multiple locations, so the more you travel, the greater possible risk of encountering one.
-If you must travel, try to do so only during the daylight hours. Whenever possible, travel in groups. Both of these should hopefully limit the chances of falling victim to one of these creatures
-If you encounter someone you believe to be afflicted by these creatures, remember that your first priority is your own safety. However, if you can do so safely, try to get them to a Pokémon Center for treatment. There has been at least one report of someone exhibiting signs of possession inflicting harm on their own person, and that should be prevented whenever possible.
-If they become hostile, attempt to find help immediately, whether it be another trainer, local law enforcement, or someone else. Do not engage someone you believe to be afflicted by these creatures if you cannot do so in a safe manner. Once again, we strongly emphasize that your first priority should be your own safety, so please seek outside assistance if the situation calls for it.
Due to resource issues, the Bureau is regrettably unable to assist all areas at this time. However, citizens in the greater Goldenrod-Saffron area are encouraged to call any member of the Bureau if they are in need of assistance. To contact an agent of the Bureau for assistance or further information, call any one of the following numbers:
>TRAINER ID: GORDON COLE
>TRAINER ID: DALE COOPER
>TRAINER ID: ALBERT ROSENFIELD
{OOC: All three of the agents will be handling calls, so just let us all know who you want in the subject line!}

I have also learned from a valued colleague, who is currently indisposed, that Ghost-Type Pokemon are capable of a number of strange things, so I see no reason to rule out the current possession theory.
[And he really wishes said colleague were here at the moment instead of Amanda.]

Date: 2012-11-01 06:57 am (UTC)From:No, I do not know what being pinned by an Absol is like. Where did it come from? I don't believe Albert has one of those.
[He's pretty sure Reid has one though, and it's good that they're aware of what's going on.]

Date: 2012-11-02 02:47 am (UTC)From:[Probably because they were Reid's.]
But I'm glad that the situation was resolved without anyone getting hurt. And I'm sure you'll be discharged from the Center once they're sure you're okay.
[Which will hopefully be after they can find someway to end the possession thing.]
