HELLO, EVERYONE. THIS IS GORDON COLE SPEAKING. I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT POKEMON EVOLUTION, AND I’M HOPING SOMEONE OUT THERE CAN ANSWER IT. NOW, I’VE READ THE HANDBOOK AND UNDERSTAND THAT POKEMON CAN CHANGE FORMS FOR SEVERAL REASONS, BUT I’M A LITTLE CONFUSED ABOUT SOMETHING. YESTERDAY, MY KRICKETOT EVOLVED INTO A KRICKETUNE. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND THIS IS NORMAL.
[Or as normal as the Pokémon world gets anyway.]
WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO ASK THOUGH, IS HOW COMMON IS IT FOR A POKEMON TO MAKE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOISE AFTER EVOLVING. I CAN ACTUALLY HEAR THIS SOMETIMES, AND I’M PRETTY SURE IT DIDN’T MAKE THAT NOISE BEFORE. IT SOUNDS LIKE…ACTUALLY, LET ME SHOW YOU.
GO AHEAD. IT’S RECORDING.
[There’s some silence, and then… this.]
IT’S REALLY STRANGE. ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW IF IT’S NORMAL FOR POKEMON TO GROW A MUSTACHE AFTER EVOLVING? BECAUSE THIS ONE DID. AT LEAST IT LOOKS LIKE A MUSTACHE. I'M NOT REALLY SURE WHAT IT IS.

[Gordon is treated to a length of silence before some mumbling.]
They get a new name and cry and everything. It's normal.

[Not like he won't be able to echolocate onto Gordon's location from the sound of his voice, after all.]

[And he'll just hang around the hotel in case Albert shows up.]

As I understand it, that's completely normal for the species. It actually happens to a lot of animals here, but I don't think I've ever really heard a sound like that. I think Kricketots and their evolutions are vaguely related to regular crickets from back home.
You're in Goldenrod, right?
